Apartment Peeks

The apartment is finished! Can you even believe it? In my last apartment, I left rooms undecorated for years, so this is a BIG accomplishment for me. It was really fun repurposing items from our old apartment and rearranging things to fit into the new space, and I have to say, I really, really love the finished product.

(The bookshelves you see in the top left photo are pretty much the only new thing we bought, and they're definitely my favorite piece in the apartment. I've always wanted a wall of bookshelves, and I love the way it looks in our living room.)

Now that we're all set up, we're ready for visitors! So, if you're reading this and you're itching for a trip to Austin, TX - come on over. We've got a super cute guest bedroom with your name on it!

*I promise a more thorough photo tour when the light is better - it's been a gloomy week here. Also, you can see our Santa Monica apartment here.

Apartment Tour: Guest Bedroom

I'm happy to report that our guest bedroom is now fully redone! (So if you were thinking of coming to visit, now's the time!) The room, which used to be my sister's bedroom before Mason and I got married and took over the apartment, is seriously gigantic. We decided to warm it up (and try to shrink it a bit) with some grey paint (I do love myself some grey walls), and because of its size, we were able to fit a bed, a little sitting area and my crafting desk - all without making it look too cluttered.

I'm really happy with the way it turned out. Photos below if you'd like to see. Enjoy!

Apartment Tour: Living Room

As most of you know, Mason and I have been redecorating our apartment since we got married in July, and because I've been promising pictures of the finished product, I thought I'd share a few of the living room, which is just about done. (We'd still like a new TV stand, curtains and some new bookshelves, but those things will have to wait for a while.)

Since we spend most of our time at home in this room, we wanted it to be warm and cozy and comfortable, and we're so happy with the way it turned out.

For the accent wall, we went with a burnt orange and the other walls are a soft cream. We also upgraded just about all of our furniture to what Mason likes to call "big boy" furniture.
