Weekend Getaway - In Photos

Weekend Getaway Weekend Getaway Weekend Getaway Weekend Getaway Weekend Getaway Weekend Getaway
Jon and I's weekend getaway to Alpharetta, GA was so nice. Our hotel (Hotel Sierra) was totally cute (and the bed was sooo comfy - what is it about hotel beds??). We spent a good part of our three days there stuffing ourselves with good food, including bbq sandwiches, mashed sweet potatoes, warm bagels, chocolate chip pancakes and cream cheese crepes. Mmmm, I get hungry just thinking about it!

On Sunday night, we went to the concert, and Jon was in heaven. He recorded Incubus' whole set on his phone (such a cutie), and I must say, for my first Incubus experience, I really enjoyed myself. Brandon Boyd (the lead singer, in case you're not familiar) definitely embodies the whole "rock star" thing, which makes him really entertaining to watch. All in all, I love weekend getaways, and I'm so glad we went!

Weekend Getaway

Incubus Concert
This weekend, we're heading to Georgia for an Incubus concert! I got the tickets for Jon for his birthday back in July (Incubus is his very, very favorite band of all time), and I'm pretty excited about a little weekend getaway.

We both took Monday off to make a three-day out of it (and to maximize the five-hour roadtrip we have to take to get there). The concert is in Alpharetta - outside of Atlanta - and we've gotten some great restaurant recos (and I hear there's a mall with an H&M! Yaaaaaay!), so we're all set to hit the road bright and early tomorrow morning.

I hope you have a great weekend filled with a little music (and whole a lot of fun), too - see you on Tuesday!

Red River Canoeing

Above are a few more photos from our canoe adventure on the Red River that I've been meaning to share, which is kind of fitting because today I'm getting ready for a little adventure of my own - to Texas! Memorial Day weekend at the lake is my favorite weekend of the entire year, and I'm in serious need of some sun, sand and family time right now. Let's just say my 9am flight cannot come fast enough.

Wishing you a fun and relaxing long weekend!
