Pocahontas State Park: Scotty McCreary

This post is ooooooold, but I wanted to share these photos anyway. This summer, we went to our first concert at Pocahontas State Park, a state park just around the corner from our house. It has the cutest little amphitheater nestled in the trees - it was the perfect place to see Idol alum, Scotty McCreary! Food and drink vendors set up on the path leading down to the amphitheater, so you can grab a pizza and a local(!) beer before you find a spot on the grass. We ate, we drank, we sang, we danced - and you guys, we had a BLAST. Seriously looking forward to more concerts here in the future!

Can be crossed off the list! A few weeks ago, we went to the very last Jazz on the Lawn of the season, and even though it wasn't technically jazz music (it was a 70s cover band), it was still a good time. Everyone brings mini tables and loads them up with snacks and bottles of wine and sits around them in circles, chatting while the band plays.

It was a chilly night so we brought along extra hot Pumpkin Spice Lattes, but they didn't compare to sipping on a nice bottle of Cab Sav. ;) We'll definitely have to go again next year when we can sample some of what Beachaven Winery has to offer!
