Friday night lights, indeed. There were cheerleaders, band members, parents and pizza. It wasn't as crazy as Texas high school football, but it was very, very fun. Santa Monica won 28 to 0, but I had a hard time keeping my eyes on the game - too many people to watch and too many high school memories flooding back in.

Fall Fancy

With yesterday being the first official day of Autumn, I just wanted to pop in and say a quick good bye to summer and an enthusiastic hello to fall.

Generally, I'm a never-want-summer-to-be-over type of girl, but this year, I'm ready. Maybe it's because I stuffed my summer as full as I could get it - drenched it in sun tan lotion and pina colodas - until I had my fill. Or maybe it's because the cool breeze has been slipping in through my window screens every morning, making me all fall fancy.

Either way, I'm excited.

Rockin' the Boat

The catamaran tour on The Blue Dolphin was our first excursion. All was good in the beginning, but ten minutes in and the waves were rocking me silly. I made it through the snorkeling (which was amazing!), but rode the hour and a half back to shore with my head on Mason's lap.

All Smiles

On our second day in Costa Rica, we explored the city of Tamarindo, browsing souvenir shops and making our wish lists. After 30 minutes in the local supermarket, we left with bottles of rum and salsa and plenty of Costa Rican coffee.

We stopped for strawberry banana smoothies on our walk back to the hotel, and the paper lanterns and watermelon slices had me all smiles.

When the guide asked us if we were ready to gallop, I said NO WAY.

I'm glad he didn't take no for an answer - Galloping with Blackie on the beach was one of my favorite moments of the trip.

LAX to ATL to Costa Rica = 1 passport stamp

In case you're wondering, I did in fact make it back safely, I've just been SO BUSY since my return that I haven't had a chance to post any of my FANTASTIC photos.

Suffice it to say (for now) that the trip was magical - the perfect blend of relaxation, adventure and pina coladas.

More pictures to come soon (I promise!).
