Dining Room Make-Over

Kitchen Makeover
Our dining room make-over has been done for a while now, I just haven't had a chance to post photos - so here it is! Voila! The "before" photo is kind of hilarious, taken on a night when we were having friends over and had to bring in the patio furniture so we'd have a place for them to sit, but overall, I think it captures the bachelor-pad-ness extremely well. (And yes, that is workout equipment in the background. Who needs a dining room when you can have a gym instead?) ;)

For the make-over, we bought a new table, chairs and buffet - then brought in a bunch of fun prints, patterns and textures to warm things up. The giant RC Cola sign on the wall was our big purchase from the Nashville Flea Market.

Our Little Lady's Room

It's finished! Our little lady's room has finally come together, and I couldn't love it more. I didn't stick with any sort of theme - instead I filled it with fun prints and colors, fabrics and toys that I love (and I hope she will, too).

It has a really peaceful vibe, which wasn't something I planned, but something that I love so much. Sometimes, during the day, I'll go rock in the rocking chair and look around at everything, imagining her in there (if she ever decides to come out of my belly!), and I feel so calm and happy. I hope she feels the same way when she comes home. :)

A few details in case you're interested...
-The walls are Valspar's Gravity, a really pretty pale grey
-The rug, changing table, bookshelf and baskets are from Ikea (love, love Ikea - especially for baby furniture)
-The orange mirror was a DIY that Jon did, spray painting an old black mirror that we weren't using
-The crib is from Walmart (so stylish for Walmart!)
-The confetti bunting was a gift from my sister and used as decoration at my baby shower
-The globe is vintage - we found it at an antique store on our trip to Georgia (I've always loved globes in kids' rooms)
-The crib sheet, owl lamp and blue pillow are from Target
-The knit pillow is Jonathan Adler (probably my favorite pillow EVER)
-The horse mirror is vintage
-The two framed prints are from Fab.com (they always have the greatest prints!)

Now, if she would only get here, she could enjoy it, right?! Hopefully we're getting close!

Porch Make-Over

Porch Make-Over
As most of you know, Jon and I have been in the process of redecorating his bachelor pad since I moved in early this year. We've made some MAJOR progress (I seriously don't even recognize some of the rooms), and we only have a few more projects before we're calling it a done deal.

We scratched one of those projects off the list last weekend with this little porch make-over. With just one gallon of paint, some pumpkins, a fall wreath, a pot of flowers and a little elbow grease, our porch went from ho-hum to va-va-voom!

It might seriously be my favorite house project out of all the ones we've done - so little effort for such a big reward. (I highly recommend a porch make-over if you want a quick, easy and affordable project that will make a BIG difference). I smile every time I go in and out of the house now. Mission accomplished.
